They usually do well under conditions of high inflation which is something we won't see for many years hence if the same model is applied as was done after the Second World War when inflation and interest rates were kept low until the seventies which culminated in the eighties blow-off.
On the other hand you can be lucky with art. I bought a painting by Patrick Carroll for a few hundred dollars in 1988 and it's worth around $10,000 now, maybe more.
