It would make you a fool. But almighty God can do what ever he pleases. If you can save some ones life with out an unreasonable risk to yourself you have a duty to do that. God isnt into micro management, if your drowning you are wasting precious time imploring him to save you. You have to avoid evil which is why you must use the brain God gave us. By prayer, humility and avoiding sin your brain might work half right so you dont end up out in the ocean, alone with out a buoyancy aid.
