Therafter Abbott promised never to have anything to do with negotiating with minor parties if HE became PM. HE promised to call a double dissolution if the Senate created problems.

Well Surprise! Surprise! Surprise! The senate is gutting his budget and Abbott is apparently trying to negotiate minimal loss of his budget war on the poor.

Abbott the pugilist looks as weak as water and already smells like a dead fish weeks after it was gutted and fileted. Small wonder his troops are anxious and those who voted for him wish they had not done so.
