Hate those cigar smoking capitalists so yes lets tax the crap out of our mining industry and big polluters lol.Now if they say enough is enough and offshore or close which is happening but would happen at a greater pace if our world leading carbon tax was introduced, who is going to pay the company taxes to finance our tertiary students, unemployment benefits, pensioners and the sick.

Not to mention all of the large companies have a direct relationship with the cost of living and the cost of production in australia but of course both are so cheap at the moment we can afford to increase both living and production costs,eg housing, food, energy.

The nasty big polluters,%$#@'s lets get them, building materials, steel manufacturers (lol that should be manufacturer),utilities, energy producers, airlines (the grounded kangaroo),these are the greatest carbon emitters.

To be specific, abc, sto, ost, bsl, vba, env, abc, agl, awc, bld, ctx, bkw, qan carbon tax would be more than 15% of fy13 npat.
Lets not forget wes and wow are also effected. and the list of less effected companies goes on to 70% of asx.Sounds like the backbone of our economy to me.

ps mining industry looks like its in a bit of trouble, not to mention the rest of australian industry,so i would like to see forecast figures if labour still in govt and where they would get the extra funding for their PS,education etc not to mention the nbn and their 100b vft project.

As i said the smart country the US,clean gas (well don't like shale but we have the west)at cheap prices for household and business use and soon to be added clean diesel and jet fuel now thats a smart global warming policy that actually helps the economy.
