I'd imagine they only need to match it.
But the obvious reaction from Origin, or others would be to increase offer, and so it continues. It's an auction no matter how Origin wants to spin it. If this is the scenario (if), then it makes the take over come more into play. I don't buy the "didn't want to start a bidding war" comment from Origin. If they want something bad enough then of course they'll play that game. So far they haven't over paid so lots of room to move.
