the swords primary characteristic is sharpness, so it can cut/slice thru problems

a sword with power & weight but no sharpness cannot cut thru problems

I think if you wanted to express cutting you would use a simile like a knife or axe, something primarily for cutting.
But a sword is both an offensive and defensive weapon. People die by swords and others are saved in some situations. A sword has power and has to be respected. Swords are specifically used on people. In battle a sword would soon get blunt striking shields, weapons and armour but it is unlikely you can take time out to sharpen it. Battles could go on for hours or all day.

A sword is for cutting flesh. "For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would". A sword has power over the flesh.

From memory in biblical times when someone thought God was no longer with them they would don sack cloth and smear themselves with ashes, they would pray and lament, fast, for weeks or months. They would humble themselves and I imagine confess there sins. All these things are for strengthening the spirit. The spirit is the seat of wisdom.

Look at the people in our society who have problems. Many have plenty of material wealth, education etc... There flesh is well nourished with every delight. And this means their spirit is starving, it cries out for food but the person doesnt understand, they think the flesh needs more and they feed it. And things get worse. So people cant help themselves, addictions, violence, broken relationships and poor judgement. No wisdom, the prosperity of fools.
