For those interested a brief history of the Lisbon Valley Mine is posted at http://www.hcn.org/issues/364/17521. Constellation commenced mining in Oct. 2005. The mine produced 20 million pounds of copper in 2006, and 19.7 million pounds in 2007. Operations ceased and the mine was closed in January 2008. The remaining stockpiled ore was processed but no record given. Failure of this mine was due to financial structure and obligations by Constellation. Geologically the mine is sound and viable.
