I would add to that list Greenspan's retirement today. When Big Ben takes over anything can happen. History tells us that up till now stock markets were always sold down on each previous changeover. Will it happen this time? time will tell.

Remember one thing, the U.S. government has a technology, called a printing press that allows it to produce as many U.S. dollars as it wishes at essentially no cost." Like government, like consumers: Both borrowed and spent at historically high and unsustainable rates. The federal budget deficit is again veering out of control. The 2005 trade deficit exceeded $700 billion for the first time. The federal debt has grown at its fastest clip since George W. Bush became president, from $5.8 trillion in 2001 to over $8 trillion today, and at this pace will exceed $10 trillion when Bush -- the first president never to veto a spending bill -- is done enjoying the dollar printing press.

    Cheers
