News: Chinalco Yunnan Copper Resources makes new copper discovery in Mt Isa

Chinalco Yunnan Copper Resources (ASX:CYU) has made a significant new copper-gold discovery at Jubilee and further confirmed a potentially large mineralised system at Millenium.

Both prospects are in the Mt Isa region in Queensland.

A significant zone of high grade primary copper sulphide and gold mineralisation at Jubilee was highlighted with a 4 metre at 4.29% copper, 1.17 g/t gold intersection from 80 metres, including 1 metre at 10.7% copper and 1.37 g/t gold.

Further confirmation of the existence of a potentially large zone of mineralisation at Millenium was identified with a broad and strong anomalous zone of 50-60 metres with intersections including 5 metres 0.98% copper, 0.5g/t gold and 5 g/t silver.

These results provide validation of the CYU model at Blue Caesar that primary copper sulphide mineralisation extends to the north of previous drilling.

In addition, reconnaissance rock chip assays up to 20% copper, 1.7g/t gold and 3.2g/t silver at the King Solomon project was identified.

Further exploration in these key target areas will be conducted in the next few months.
