Back to the original point: why were we retail investors shut out of the deal?

I can think of acceptable reasons.  I'm awaiting an explanation from the company.

0	1	The money is required more quickly than a general rights offer would permit.
1	2	The amount of money required is too small to justify the costs of a general rights offer
2	3	The money is required for a take-over bid for a target that would be obvious to the market if the details of the required capital became general knowledge, and in the interests of preventing a bid-up of the target's share price the capital was raised privately.
