Guys, if you could share your views on the below it is much appreciated. Do you think Allograft tissue developments will make Avita's Autologus technology redundant?
Autologus (Avita)
Avita is using autologous cell harvesting, which requires taking a piece of one’s own skin and use it to cure wounds in other places. The downside to this treatment is that the patient ends up with a secondary (donor site) site wound where the skin is drafted, so requires healing of the donor site as well.
Allografts
Allografts, uses human amniotic membrane from placenta taken from the mother after the baby birth. Allografts are very effective for skin grafting and at least half a dozen companies in US are rapidly progressing and very successful with this technology. (MDXG, ALQA, OSIR, MDWD, DSCI to name a few). They are ahead in the game
I hold position in Avita and believe in it is a wonderful product, but trying to understand the role of allogratfs and how they will compete with Autologus treatments
Thanks
