Acturtle,
You are spot on re weakness in USD being THE driving factor behind the appreciation in the POG.
The other factor which is a tad worrying in the appreciation of the AUD.
Aussie gold stocks have in my view appreciated because of 1 and a quarter reasons.
The 1 in 1 1/4 is the weakness of the AUD, the substantial gains made by the Aussie goldies (2001 and 2002) were in large part attributable to the above.
The 1/4 which followed is the appreciation of POG in absolute terms and a touch of gold fever.
We are currently in a situation of the 1st phase being slightly discounted as the AUD rises, do not ignore the effects of this on short term prices.
ATM I hold only small amount of Aussie goldies but am cashed up and will have NO hesitation in re-entering shortly when the dust settles.
Miningnut.
Leave B2 alone. She / He seems to call short term movements will a degree of success.
I also agree her presentation is somewhat irritating but we can all live with that if she keeps getting more right than wrong.
Rob.
