Not sure I agree - the cost of the drill string failure would ONLY be at cost to the Client if it was due to adverse drilling conditions - ie. ground conditions. This would only be after an exhaustive attempt to fish or free the rod string - this time frame would be agreed with the Client.
No Drilling company will ever get insurance for breakdown / equipment maintenance.
No cost to the Client for breakdown / maintenance time (unless there is a clause in the contract). I am not sure why everyone is stressing about the cost - as the only cost to us should be the downtime lost for actually having bit on bottom and therefore the hold up in sampling results - or possibly an abandoned hole owing to ground conditions?
