    I don't recall anything like this happening before in my investing history:

    - loyalty options well and truly in the money with the ex-date approaching
    - almost zero incentive to sell
    - SP continuously improving as believers / opportunist seek to beat the deadline
    - yet considerable pressure on the SP following the ex-date
