Hi - never tried it before redbacka and not game to do it here for my first time. And I'm just really good at screwing up the simple things I'm afraid.
By commenting about the lack of selling, I was pointing out that OBV was rising despite a falling price. At first blush, it looks like accumulation giving way to selling pressure. MACD gives nothing away; it's tightly correlated with the signal line, slow stochs look bullish - but it has flashed bullish before over the past 12 months on light volume, so many would dismiss this too. No one should be interested in it. But when no one is interested in a stock, it's meant to fall in price. This has fallen and looks like it has based and doesn't want to go any lower given the buying volume that hit it at 1.8c in early June.
But I think that's my point. I just see a stock that should be falling in price, with holders sitting on large paper loss, just sitting there hovering at a certain value. I'm intrigued because this behaviour warrants scrutiny.
The bollinger bands... In August and October 2013, API's price rose due to band squeeze. But the stock was in uptrend, so a continuation of the trend makes perfect sense. At the very beginning of February and again in May 2014, band squeeze again caused a price rise - but the stock was then in downtrend.
But API is clearly in a downtrend with rising OBV that looks like accumulation giving way to selling pressure. Why won't the price fall any more, and why does it rise every time the bands move closer. Maybe it's nothing, maybe it's something - this stock is hovering to me when it shouldn't be. And since the price seems to rise every time the bands close in on each other, I'm out of this unscathed if it ends up being nothing.
By the way, this is the absolute worst puppy to be discussing in a thread like this. I shouldn't have mentioned it in hindsight - just found ourselves scratchin' for ideas today. It intrigued me, and it looked like we were all watching fail compilations on you tube this arvo so I floated it. Nine Lives - you may moderate away at your leisure...
