IIRC there is no current injunction against work at Riley Creek.

If it were sought by STT, I doubt the appeal of Justice Tracey's finding against STT's appeal against the legality of the Minister's approval would support an injunction, given that it is two steps removed from the substantive question (i.e. whether Riley Creek should be mined, which is the remit of the federal Minister for the Environment).

The direct path is:
(a) Minister forms the opinion that he approves of mining Riley Creek >
(b) Minister executes his opinion via the legal mechanism under the Act, thus activating Venture's right to immediately begin mining (STT appeals the legal form of the Minister's approval) >
(c) Judge Tracey finds that Minister's execution of his opinion via the Act was lawful (STT appeals the legal form of Justice Tracey's rejection of their first appeal...verdict forthcoming).

So, given that the current appeal is not contra Venture, or the Minister's approval of the Riley Creek mine, but rather is against Justice Tracey, I do not think that they could get a stop-work injunction (stand to be corrected by any legal eagles out there).

In any case, I think Venture wants to avoid the appearance of jumping the gun, which doesn't cost us anything given the current IO and AU$. Things might change if the IO price settles above the $100 mark and the dollar sinks back to 90c...
