neo - in my market analyst charting program I have an application which does pretty much what you are describing - its called a relative comparison chart ...... I use it to make a relative comparison of the indexes of the major countries with one another, it gives a percentage reading on the vertical side bar... I can adjust it to read over any time frame, one month, one year, or 10 years..
I also use it to make relative comparisons of the - performances of the various sectors within the asx....
- world currencies
- stocks charts against the all ords charts
I would have thought that most charting programs have this application..
