Drilling times and news

Found these posts on the share price.co.uk website and the iii.co.uk chatroom. Not sure I agree with Toby, more inclined to agree with Goldie (whom I think also posts on HC as I have seen similar comments here about Assaka being a duster and Trident full with oil!)... see comments below:

I had another look at when we could expect an update after looking at target depths, late spud and Judy Maritime -1 wells average drilling speed. JM-1 took approx. 57 day’s to hit TD at 3,711m, which is an average drill speed of approx. 65m per day. TPET anticipate drilling through the Trident prospect within 60 day’s, which is an average drill speed of approx. 60m pd (3,600m / 60m pd). Assaka’s target depth is between 2,700m - 2,800m 2,800m / 60m pd = approx. 45-47 day’s Trident’s target depth is between 3,000m - 3,600m 3,600m / 60m pd = approx. 50-60 day’s TMA’s target depth is between 3,900m - 4,600m 4,600m / 60m pd = approx. 65-77 day’s We may get some early HC’s news as we drill through the Cretaceous on the way down to the Assaka prospect, but for big news re Assaka results I would hazard a guess at being updated around the second week of August, if no problems, imo. If the drill bit is turning as fast as JM-1 then perhaps we could get news on Assaka TD as early as the first week of August (41 day’s - 2,700m / 65m). Trident TD news could be as soon as 5 day’s after Assaka results (46 day’s - 3,000m / 65m) - August is looking about right for first news on Assaka/Trident other than Cretaceous oil/gas shows being confirmed, which would be great news. Fingers crossed TPET confirms Assaka has live oil, if any, and not just the usual there were HC shows. IMO. By tobytoby

Comments: The times for drilling of Cap Juby are instructive I guess so we may not get to Assaka in the time our MD indicated which was 2-3 weeks, unless Goldie's scenario is correct. The Galp announcement did say "within 2 months" to reach Trident. I'm wondering why if our MD is correct it would take another 3-4weeks to go from 2700-3600 (maximum)? Casing, blow out preventers etc I guess? Any opinions on the above? In any case from my research posted here yesterday we might even get some excitement early on while they are drilling through the Cretaceous as Goldie says (an outside chance anyway).
