What the balance between management remaining positive on a stock and being realistic about the expectations? That's the biggest issue. If they are realistic, when news comes through and it is not what everyone was hoping its no real shock. I for one would rather them under promise and over deliver. It seems to work the other way with these types of stocks. If they are trying to protect the share price, it obviously does not work. If they don't deliver on what they promised it drops anyway!!!!
