When property was doubling every 7 to 10 years, sometimes even quicker in certain areas, it was very easy money. Buy a slum, do a cosmetic renovation, bit of landscaping and turfing, instant equity, increased yield, positively geared from day one, then get it revalued to buy the next. Simple but effective, they were good times for everyone. Just saying, its not that easy anymore.
