Total hyperbole. Absolute rubbish. Not many apart from those who have been substantially alienated from societal norms - principally due to inter-generational poverty - would prefer to live on welfare rather than accept a job. Those who are quick to label the unemployed as 'bludgers' are completely out of touch with reality - reality being the actual representation of truth, not merely a convenient self serving perception. Those unfortunate enough to shun employment provide an opportunity for someone else to be employed. Those unfortunate enough to shun employment need support, encouragement and motivation not demonisation. Under the right conditions in a truely civil society only an extremely small minority of individuals would choose poverty over a comparatively basic standard of living.
