Using a cutting edge genome analysis technique (“whole-exome sequencing”), the study authors sequenced the DNA from every gene in five trichomegaly-affected subjects. From nearly 43,000 variants identified across the full genome (~20,000 genes) analysed, only mutations arising in a single gene, FGF5, caused trichomegaly.
First time poster here
Trichomegaly is a congenital condition in which the eyelashes are abnormally long. Sorry if i have this wrong but this study is saying the cause of this is related to FGF5 ?
Anyone know what the market is for women wanting longer eye lashes? Come up with a product that women can apply to their eye lashes using FGF5 to increase eye lash growth and $$$$$$$.
I could be wrong here but this could get interesting.
