Spot on stevo...I would agree with Ross Cameron's almost tongue in cheek comment on the Paul Murray show a few weeks ago. He reckons entrepreneurs and businessmen who create jobs should not pay tax at all and should be protected...as they are the ones creating employment and the future for thousands of people...so why should they pay tax? The employees will pay their share.
I have come across dozens of blokes who have refused promotion as it would mean using their brains or assuming some responsibility, they would rather earn just enough to pay the bills than be visible and be promoted to higher wages.
Some people are afraid of responsibility, they would rather be a follower than a leader...I say just as well or we would have nobody to employ!

I would prefer flat rate and GST acroos everything and encourages people to work. seems the fairest to me. Although I confess I do not know so much about the tax structure at a national level. Everyone should pay tax. No one should live in a society without contributing.
