News: Country Road takeover nears completion

    The takeover of Country Road Limited (ASX:CTY) by South African retailer Woolworths Holdings is nearing completion.
     
    Woolworths Bidco has advised that a key condition of the takeover has been satisfied with the announcement by department store David Jones that its own takeover by the company has been finalised.
     
    The South African company says the only remaining condition to the offer is approval by the Australian Foreign Investment Review Board.
     
    Country Road reported a net profit of almost $38 million in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
