Jupiter recieves 1/27th of the solar enery that the Earth receives, it is much more energetic than the Earth and Jupiter radiates to space 1.6 to 2 times more energe than it recieves from the Sun. Like on Earth these sort of storms are not permament features - the chance that the Sun is causing this change is miniscule.
