Dave, I dont know if you've ever been down and out on the bones of your a*se. But if you have, you will understand that you need hope and a dream to keep going. Otherwise there is no point and you "top" yourself. If you can image the lives of some of those guys -squatting in the dirt amongst ruined buildings and dodging bulldozers and tanks, with very little hope for an improvement to their conditions in their lifetime, anyway, you can understand how they can clutch to the one solid stanchion that exists for them -their religion and the promises of paradise that comes from their religion. That is their "hope", and why they are so ready to die. Because a lot of them sure dont have anything to look forward to in this life.
