Mum-of-10 dies as troops move in From correspondents in Jenin 07mar03 A PALESTINIAN mother of 10 has been shot dead in her backyard by Israeli troops, Palestinian medical sources have said.
Khiriya Mahmoud Alaouneh, 50, was outside her home as the troops entered Jaba village, near Jenin in the West Bank, they said.
She suffered fatal chest and head wounds when they opened fire at houses in the area, the sources said.
An Israeli army spokeswoman said Palestinian gunmen had shot at the soldiers in the village, but insisted the troops had not returned fire
