Look at the geographical array and realise as this moves thru into the really under-developed 3rd world countries with limited medical infrastructure or govt largesse, the likelihood of this disease affecting enough people who then have the human influenza virus will increase dramatically.
Forget the #'s...its the presence in migratory birds and their capacity to spread it that is the risk...
....and there are millions of them!
Read somewhere that the method it can be spread is if the bird with the flu sneezes (sh%t - didnt know birds even sneezed) ...
...but if they do over a water supply, the virus remains viable in that medium and can be ingested by a human.
One of the real risks methinks...
