Have a look again at this lovely chart. The great thing about charts - sure you can interpret them anyway you like but what they show is facts in a graphic form rather than opinion in a fictional form.
I'll bet each time this Dow/Gold ratio started to collapse people thought the worst was over! And it will be - when the ratio gets back to that little red line down the bottom. In the meantime some pretty savage moves would seem likely to either /and the Dow and Gold prices - most likely both. And somehow I don't imagine that we in Australia will just be able to sit and watch unaffected.
