You're a nice man, Hoyland- I assume the same of Derek. I was simply wondering, say, if the Graham patents expire at about the same time drugs start selling- where is the value? I am not a patent lawyer nor a contract lawyer- but, in my experience of negotiating patent licenses the phrase 'for the life of the patent' was always included in the contract. What I really mean to ask or what I am wondering- there must be other avenues to realize the value of Benitec's efforts- developmental patents, process patents or protection obtained while or during the developmental process that might minimize the value attributed to Graham. Otherwise, it seems 'unfair' to lose so much potential value because the US Patent Office decided to invalidate basic claims in Graham only to later reverse their decisions in favor of Benitec- how many years of protection were lost because of the decisions of the US legal system? As I recall Rothschild sold off during that specific time frame. How many other heavy hitter investors flied because of that legal problem? I am fearful of ddRNAi becoming another 'carbon nanotube' experience- brilliant in it's conception but no company was able to realize any market value. I am also fearful of 'Voyager' and 'Dimension'- i.e., the time lost due to legal obstacles may have ruptured any of Benitec's positive efforts- they simply lost too much time. (I am long on BLT- though confused about BTEBY) Thanks for any response.
