Another possible reason why copper stockpile is decreasing could be geopolitical. In the event of war, copper usage will definitely offset any decline in car sales. If the stock is decreasing at the LME and the grade of copper being mined gets lower and lower does it mean that copper could be very undervalued at its current price ?
There is surely a rearmament going on globally so who knows copper could be the new gold soon as it would be an important ingredients that wins war.
When I see the news sometimes, they just post the news for the sake of having a news. We really need to think what is the direction that the world is going towards to ? More economic growth ? lower interest rate ? Inflation? COPPER IS THE NEW GOLD! (you heard it first here at Hotcopper) LOL!! Now, back to my chocolate wafer and decaf coffee..
