Consumer packaging manufacturer Amcor Limited (ASX:AMC) has launched a new LiquiForm technology.LiquiForm uses the consumable liquid instead of compressed air to hydraulically form and fill containers on one machine simultaneously.Amcor says this process dramatically simplifies the manufacture of rigid plastic containers for a wide range of consumer products.The company believes the breakthrough is expected to reduce capital costs and improve operating efficiency and product quality.Amcor advises LiquiForm delivers a reduction of operating costs of up to 25 per cent, lower manufacturing risk and greater flexibility in container design.Amcor reported a net profit of $173 million in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
