Snake7, I agree with your comments. If you were a short term trader betting on the BBI deal to be finalised within a specific time period, e.g. within the next 3 months, then you will have been dissapointed.

What I don't get is why people continue to try to day trade and play the short term games when all the research shows that this is a losing strategy in the long run. The only thing I can think of is that people lack patience and want to make a quick buck, rather than do the real work and then let that strategy play out.

On top of this is the introduction of machines that play the short term game - and operate faster than people can react. Heck, they're even plugged into the ASX to ensure they can put in orders and see orders before everyone else... so how do you win the short term game when it's effectively been rigged?
