I think that a company can call a trading halt if they want to. In this case they expect to announce results on Monday. If they were close to TD and expect to be able to announce on Monday then that would be OK IMO.
I'm not sure of the answer either way. I just want to debate alternatives.
I'm also concerned about the GALP share price. A failed drill would be nothing to them but a discovery would have some sort of impact to their share price and unfortunately we haven't seen that.
