    From Diggers:

BEADELL Resources managing director Peter Bowler says the company is confident it will find a repeat of the Duckhead gold deposit in Brazil, while Duckhead production is set to rise with the deposit back online after the wet season.

Speaking on the sidelines of Diggers and Dealers in Kalgoorlie yesterday, Bowler said there was still a strong exploration upside at Beadell's main Brazilian holdings.

“We're very confident we'll find either another repetition of Duckhead either 600m away or perhaps underneath,” he said.

“We're finding some really good intersections underneath and our geologists are very excited and very confident.

“You have to get your head around how lightly that whole system has been drilled.”

Along with exploration at the Tucano mine, which hosts Duckhead, Bowler said there was also strong potential in the regional holdings.

“We've got buckets of exploration to go and we know we're going to find more gold,” he said.

“This is not rocket science, you've just got to bang some holes in the jungle and you'll come up trumps.”

On the operations side, Tucano recorded weaker June production due to heavy rain.

Operations were disrupted at the high-grade Duckhead pit but Bowler said the wet season was over and production was back on track.

“Rest assured the second half is going to be an absolute cracker,” he said.

Despite the disruptions, Bowler said Duckhead had still performed well.

“I think that six months in the wet, which was only around 60,000 ounces, showed just how profitable it is mining gold in Brazil,” he said.

“We survived very well and we've set ourselves up for a very strong second half.

“Overall it will be an excellent year. It will be similar to last year.”

Beadell shares finished 4.7% lower at A49.5c yesterday and were down another 4% this morning at 47.5c.
