Here is some interesting data from the recent feasibility study carried out by Focus Graphite a Canadian based graphite miner aiming for production in 2016:
Forecast Units Average Price / Tonne of Concentrate: 2015 sales at $1,713 Tonne. 2016 sales $2,256 US$ Tonne
Internal Rate of Return (IRR) 41.8 %
Cost requirements for mine construction, processing plant, power line and all associated infrastructure estimated at $165.55 million.
Note the high IRR - this indicates a very desirable investment.
Note the cost of building a graphite mine and processing plant from scratch - $165.55 million.
VXL has a massive advantage both in the low cost of recommissioning its mine and plant rather than building from scratch and the fast timeline to production.
Other ASX graphite miners will need to raise substantial capital before they can get started.
