That ice is much thinner than it's supposed to be, when it melts the arctic shoreline will need re-mapping, note that the ice is melting from underneath.
There are i admit vested interests on both sides of the debate that can put forward scientific arguments and facts that make their point of view the more reliable one, depending on who reads it and whether or not their research has been peer reviewed and proven, both sides lose on that one, maybe it's true and maybe it isn't, maybe it's a normal part of earths climatic system that we haven't been around long enough to understand, however do we want a world were we continue to burn our fossil fuels until they run out and maybe or maybe not suffer pollution, health issues and perhaps loss of wildlife habitat maybe even our own habitat, or should we at least put as much effort into researching and developing better science as we do into developing fossil fuel technology so when the day comes it's a simple shift over from one to the other, looking at the world from my point of view it seems to be more about who owns and controls the technology, not whether it's better for humanity, personally i hope we can populate other planets before we have to find out.
