As for CSL or other vaccines: active against H5N1, but will it be effective against the mutant strain that is the pandemic strain? Probably not as we do not know what it will look like exactly. The expertise gained by developing these vaccines will help us produce a pandemic vaccine but that will be 3-6 months AFTER the pandemic has hit.
