I think that's the key point arsenic that pre heating will give the feed more strength and will be less likely to flake and cause dust and is commonly used in pelletising.
it wouldn't be hard for jdc to dig up this work and use this to base any modifications on if they haven't already done so.
Again can't think they are to far away from perfecting the process and hoping for good news soon.
