An argument for dividends.

Recently, it's been fashionable for the "financial advisor class" to pour scorn on dividends. For the past 3-4 years, paid-for newsletters (which I stupidly subscribed to) have been predicting the collapse of the banks. And at the same time pushing QBE as the new wonder company..... amongst a host of  other growth stocks..

Some did very well, some did very badly, on average, I don't think their picks kept up with the ASX200. But of course, they always kept reminding us of their successful stock picks only.

Anyhow, here is a dissenting view..... http://www.*********.com.au/shane_oliver.asp?a=AV&ai=31266

So, unless you're a skilled market timer / stock picker, boring old dividend stocks are the way to go.
