I read about the Monster deal yesterday too. A very strategic play by the Coca-cola company and the good news is worldwide distribution of Monster comes with the deal. There was also a swap deal done with Monster's non energy drinks going to coke and coke's struggling energy drinks going to Monster. I think its smart deal. Coke always struggled with their energy drinks. Now they have partnered with the successful Monster. It was also done to stave of Pepsi taking a stake in Monster and thus becoming the distributor of the product.
