Well, if the "real" treatments had worked and had corrected the problem, then they wouldn't be seeing me, would they? But the question is, why didn't the "real" treatment work as a placebo?

Hang on a sec, if animals don't know that it is apparently a placebo, how can it cure them by the placebo effect, which according to you is the only possible effect a remedy can have?
