Maybe for the first time I will agree with something Moon stated but with conditions. Certain rents are falling, excellent read in Financial Review today. In Perth the greatest rent declines are in blue chip areas and inner city Perth and East Perth. NEVER BUY UNITS, Massive oversupply looming and difficult to rent. The other story in Fin, was that the units being built are not suitable for all. Have looked at inner city units with a view to have a city pad and retire to beach. Most of the units are not suitable for permanent living. Laundry in toilet, small balconies, poor sound insulation and one car bay. New units are built cheap for investors and now when things slow they are shown to be poor money spinners.
Statistics for Perth median have been dragged down for last 6 months by inner city prices slowly falling and with another 6000 or more units due for completion in next 2 years Moon just maybe right.
Supply and demand still looks good in middle suburbia.
