"Personally, I believe the real problem lies with the party not personalities as the personalities concerned are merely the product of the party."
morning,
well, if one agrees with that (and I probably do) -------- one can extend that to a nation - ie. that our politicians are merely a product of the nation.
Sounds like it makes sense to me.
If true - then we all have a problem - labourites, libs, greens and god knows what else.
So here we are on HC -- a mix of righties, lefties, commo's, pinko's and puffo's ---------- but ALL with the same problem.
And if we follow the extrapolation - then we cannot fix it by electing one party or another ----- it looks like time that we need to do something very different.
Personally - the only answer I ever had (besides throwing the baby out with the bathwater) was to get the nation involved in politics - and I mean actually involved ---------- joining parties.
I figured what the best one could do is to join a party - the party one disliked the most. Yep, join the one you hate - change it from the inside - at worst, you get to vote in the pre-selections - far more power than voting at the ballot.
However, that was the best I came up with --------- and, things have got a whole lot worse since.
