Has anyone thought about the dynamics of BHP selling the Kambalda smelter?
It looks to have stalled, they have a lot of reabiltation cost coming up as well.
I wonder what the cost and economics of buying a smelter or buying a new CFNP long term cheap supply of nickel feed?
Why wouldn't you just buy into the rescorce JV KNP produce your own smelter feed and cut the cost of buying from the exsisting mines that feed it now?
Or build a smelter in there country and run it (cheaper) again.
These Asian downstream users must be doing some serious calculations at the moment.
This is going to be very interesting, hence the strong inbound interest in KNP!!!!!!!!!!!
