There is FA and TA. The daily movements in SP are controlled by TA whereas if FA is proven, the price will start aligning towards the forecast valuation. IMO market will always sell on uncertainty. While oil find has wet the appetite, it hasn't confirmed any commercial find. in regards to prices at the start of the year, comparing scenarios are futile as sentiment of the trader and investor fluctuates within the stock and in the market over that period. FAR hovered around the 5 - 6 c region until it started a gradual decline on the back of rig issues and delays. The problem with this is the immediate SP rerating means even on good news it will return to previous level following a hefty rise. Now can you imagine what the SP would have done if we were already at mid 5s in the absence of the delays? This is why a tight hole can work against a SP. It doesn't keep the interest and momentum within the stock and SP. Just my opinion. I feel this will offer opportunities at high 4s (previous resistance/support points) in the ST until some news is announced or "leaked".
