good discussion peeps, here are some of my thoughts:

    - there are always unknowns, therefore there is always risk. this should be managed accordingly.

    - it's wise to be skeptical at first and form considered opinions before investing.  i main reasons i choose to believe the story based the information presented to date, the credibility of the inventors, the investment behavior of major shareholders, the behavior of the company (of particular note being the remarkable lack of shareholder dilution, easy to understand based on the potential though, "fat stacks" for the few), and the substantial amount of time and money invested by no less than 4 major external partners/entities.  from the 2012 Chairman's Address "...the fabs have decided to break from their normal practice and absorb the majority of the significant costs involved with developing mass fabrication methods."

    - ...and then there's this guy - Lee K Lau.  who's that?  he's been creeping up the top 20 shareholder list since AP took control.  did a bit of digging and came up with this certified solid gold nugget of info - he co-founded ATI.  i reckon he knows what he's doing.

given this, i'm of the view:

    - the potential market cap is truly massive.  according to the 2010 investor presentation the fptv, cellphone, laptop, and car stereo speaker driver markets alone were worth $6B that year (staggering to think what it is now).

    - the prospect of gaining a majority position in the markets are high given the demand for a product with AP's characteristics, i.e. form factor, modular design, cost (think total cost too, don't need other components, simple construction), audio quality, power requirements, sound "directionality".  They also have new markets to provide for that will eventuate as a result of these characteristics.

    - better quality sound should enable price premiums.  think beats headphones, they picked up half the billion dollar headphone market in around 3yrs with a product way more expensive than the norm.  then apple happened to beats.

so if all goes to plan, and the product delivers as intended, a market cap of several billion wouldn't be out of the question, or more likely a buyout.

look forward to more discussion, as well as any phone/email responses you might get back from AP.
