OFFICE: TRP: New General Manager appointment - Transpower New Zealand

Transpower announced today that it had appointed Jim Tocher to General
Manager Grid Performance, effective immediately.
Since April 2007, Jim has been General Manager Information Services and
Technology at Transpower, and has been acting in the General Manager Grid
Performance role since the
end of July.

Prior to joining Transpower, he was CEO of Erricson Synergy and held senior
level positions within the IT and Telecommunications sectors managing
assignments in Europe, North and South America and Asia-Pacific.

Jim holds a BE (Honours) Civil Engineering from Canterbury University and an
MBA (with Distinction) from Victoria University.
