While we are on the topic of BBI... I think we are underestimating just how much work already has (and will continue to) go into re-inventing the way gold is coated and be further optimized to suit the new M&G technology, and how many boxes must be ticked to confirm that this is ready for market. I don't think it is as simple as following existing protocols, as our process of coating gold is foreign to the mainstream norm. And we only have a hand full of researchers working towards completely redesigning this wheel. They would be trying to outperform the standard biofunctionalization methods that have been tweaked over and over for decades by the scientific community. This is clearly a huge task to take on, and we aren't giving them much breathing space. I don't think we are in scale up phase yet, but there are many more collaborations on Anteo's plate that could surface before this one.

Also, I find it likely that we are collaboratively developing processes that could well revolutionize the way gold nanoparticles are biofunctionalised. And this is research that could be translated well beyond just lateral flow applications. And i find it very reassuring that Anteo claims that we may well replace standard technology, and that BBI now sees us as long term strategic partners with potentially other opportunities on the table. It's not looking too bad.
