re: goglin is spot on Goblin do you know the difference between a car going wholesale and still being retail, there are alot of different variances and of course the conditions are fluctuating violently as a mountain of low kilometre cars come onto the used market these days.

Not having a go at you but we really are comparing apples and oranges I can quite honestly say that the Buick/Holden product is some of the worst in the world hanbds down both in refinement, engineering standard and ultimately retailability in used markets. Even debating the issue over Mercedes Benz on a financial level little lone a quality stand point is just plain non-sensical.

It takes 5 years for a Commodore to be wholesale and worth under 20% of its original purchase. It takes upwards of 20 for a Mercedes to do the same but its not uncommom for the Merc to still be retailable 20 years after it first hit the traffic.
